Choosing Steel Materials according to properties and applications:

Low carbon wire is available as galvanized, bright, and annealed with wire.

High Carbon Steel is processed by heat to 800 °C (1475 °F), quench in water or brine. The oil quenching section below 4.75 mm (3/16 in.) is used for hardening.

Carbon steel spring wire is a basic steel material widely used for spring applications, supplied in an extensive range of diameters, coatings, packaging, hardness, tensile and surface conditions.

Carbon steel wire can be processed into bright basic wire, oil tempered wire, tinned coated music wire, or galvanized carbon wire to suit a wide range of applications.

Stainless steel is a steel alloy that must contain a minimum of 10.5% chromium and contains levels of nickel, molybdenum, and niobium. Stainless steel wire is extremely versatile and is selected for its use primarily due to its corrosion and heat resistant properties.

Stainless Steel Spring Wire are High Tensile Strength Wires, suitable for making Precision Springs, Compression Springs, Tension Springs, Wire Forms, and Wire Ropes. Stainless wires feature a smooth surface, high corrosion resistant, high fatigue strength, excellent heat resistance and are supplied in various ss grades according to specific uses.

High carbon spring wire processed and formed without losing strength is suitable for mattress wire and music wire. Stainless spring wires are used for springs requiring excellent consistent spring forming capabilities.

High/Low carbon wire Material: European material norm EN 10016-2

Wire ductility = 8%
Wire mechanical characteristics must be the same throughout all length.
Wire to be spherodized annealed, without local accumulation of carbides.
Average decarburization of the wire surface max to 0.02mm of its depth.
Total decarburization is not allowed.
Wire must be demagnetized.

Finishing:blank, no coating.
Wire diameter deviations: for sizes 0.5-1.0 mm = +0/-0.01
for sizes 1.02-2.4 mm = +0/-0.02

Ovality: Max. 50% of the diameter deviation
Wire surface must be: dry, without any oil or outstanding drawing lubrigantsclean of any dirtiness smooth, without pitting, without chips, without tramlines maximum depth of tramlines and breaches 0.008 mm no rust.
